Winter in Illinois was quite long and cold, apparently more so than usual.
Spring Break in Santa Barbara, California.
Easter trip to New Mexico. We stayed in the lovely village of Magdalena. Most excellent contrast to
Chicago --- a lot of empty space, very few people, and only a few horses, rocks, and an occasional radio telescope to get in your way.
Colorado National Monument. Great camping and dayhiking in western Colorado which already looks
quite like Utah.
In the right wind conditions, I managed to boogie board on Lake Michigan. In absence of wind,
you can always play frisbee...
Summer vacation in Utah, Idaho, and Wyoming. We visited Zion National Park, Cedar Breaks
National Monument, Grand Teton National Park, and many less known rocks and hills.
Desperate times call for desperate measures. If you do not weigh much, you can rockclimb
a tree. Or drive to Wisconsin --- the two rocky pictures below are from Devils Lake State
Park, only 3 hours away.
