Ground Rules:   The final grade is computed according to the following recipe:

Tests 30%

Homework 45%

Lab work:  10%

Final Exam 15%

Tests:  February 12, March 19, April 12

Mid-Semester break:  March 8-14

Easter break:  April 2-6 (4:30 pm)

Last Day To Withdraw:  March 29  (5:00 p.m.)

Last Day of Class:  April 30

Study Days:  May 3, 4

Final Exam: May 5 (8:00 - 10:00 a.m.)

Loyola Calendar (Spring Semester) and Final Exam Schedule (Spring Semester)

1.    The duration of each test is approximately 50 minutes. Make-up tests will be given only for non-frivolous reasons.
2.    Programs will be accepted late, but with a substantial penalty.
3.    The minimum penalty for cheating is failure in the course. A student who improperly aids another with a programming assignment, a test, the final exam, or with homework is considered to be equally culpable.

The goal of intellectual education is not to know how to repeat or retain ready-made truths (a truth that is parroted is only a half-truth). It is in learning to master the truth by oneself at the risk of losing a lot of time and of going through all the round about ways that are inherent in real activity.
